Our Events
In addition to our signature programs, our club steps up to help our community by providing hands-on fundraising and events. Our aim is to fulfill the Soroptimist mandate –– to transform the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities.
Lobster Dinner & Fundraiser
The Lobster Dinner fundraiser is a annual fun-filled event held at the West Vancouver Yacht Club. Attendees connect to mingle, enjoy a fabulous lobster dinner and partake in a silent auction and 50/50 draw. The proceeds from the Lobster Dinner help support many of our causes including Live Your Dream Award & Beyond the Cash Award which is an extension of financial support to our prior recipients .
Gender Equality Conference
Gender Equality Now (a.k.a. GEN1 to GEN4) events take place annually. The purpose of these events are to help attendees effectively address gender inequities when they encounter them. The forums feature gender equality champions who share their experiences and insights about human rights and equality. Attendees practice how to communicate effectively in gender bias scenarios.
Annual Awards Ceremony
The Soroptimist Annual Awards Ceremony is held annually in April. It is a special time of the year where our club comes together with amazing women, key community members, charitable agencies we work with and our hard-working judges to celebrate the deserving recipients of the Live Your Dream Award, the EmpowHER Dreams Award & the Bonnie McLaren Award.
