Christmas Wreath Fundraiser
Under the direction of long-time club member and expert florist, Margitta Schulz (Margitta’s Flowers in the Lonsdale Quay), the holiday wreath-making fundraiser is a favourite among members. We come together before the December holidays to have some fun and collaborate in designing beautiful wreaths. The wreathes are sold to support various initiatives focused on improving the lives of women and girls. We have raised $25,000 to date!

Dream Bags
Dream Bags are a gesture of hope and love to women in our community. A gently used purse is filled with much needed personal care items. The many items such as shampoo, tissues, nail care items, scarves, makeup, journals and pens, although small, are given with love to connect with women who may be in need.

THE JL FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN AND COMMUNITY
Helping kids in need
SI N&W Vancouver Soroptimist Jindra & her husband Laurent decided to retire during the Pandemic, and focus on global projects that support various organizations and people in need. They have been supporting children with cancer in Mexico for the past 8 years (AFCC), and launched a new program in Zimbabwe (ACRZ) after a recent trip where they saw desperate need.
The foundation is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children in rural areas. By providing essential resources, educational support, and community programs, they aim to empower children with opportunities they might not otherwise have access to.
Their mission is to bridge the gap for children in under-served rural communities by ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed. They believe that every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of their geographical or socio-economic background.
At the heart of the JL Foundation's work are programs designed to address the unique challenges faced by rural children: Educational Support, Health & Nutrition, Community Development and Empowerment & Mentorship
Thanks to the generosity of donors and volunteers, the JL Foundation has reached hundreds of children in rural areas, improving literacy rates, increasing school attendance, and fostering a sense of hope in communities that need it most.
YOU can make a difference in the lives of rural children by supporting the JL Foundation. Whether through donations, volunteering, or partnerships, your contribution helps build a brighter future for the next generation.

Aid to Families of Children with Cancer (AFCC)
AFCC currently assists 23 Puerto Vallarta families who have children with cancer. Its Director has been running the Program for the past 12 years. Aurora lost her own daughter to cancer at the age of 4, so she fully understands the struggles that the parents and their children have.
