I am a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with KCB. I design and build dams to help mining companies safety manage their waste. I love consulting engineering for the diversity of the projects, the ability to solve challenging technical problems, and because I am constantly learning. In geotechnical engineering we spend some time in the office designing things and some time in the field drilling below ground so we can tailor our designs for the site conditions or observing construction to confirm that what’s being built is consistent with our designs. I’ve been lucky enough to travel around the world and have spent a lot of time in Alaska, the Dominican Republic, and the Northwest Territories for work. I am also a Team Manager at KCB, which means I help young engineers chart their careers and I coordinate their project work so they can become well-rounded experts. Helping people develop and grow is very rewarding.
